The American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) is instrumental in advancing feline veterinary care through their publications of Practice Guidelines, Position Statements, and other educational resources.

Overview:

With their long-standing reputation and track record in the veterinary community, the AAFP has become one of the most trusted memberships for facilitating high standards of feline practice. In an effort to advance the quality of feline medicine, the AAFP has encouraged veterinarians to reevaluate preconceived practice strategies to continuously improve. Through high standards of practice, continuing education, and evidence-based medicine, members will improve the health and welfare of felines and feline medicine. One of the most celebrated and important endeavors that they have developed is the Cat Friendly Practice program, which provides a better understanding of a cat’s distinct needs and behaviors to hospital locations.

Why is the AAFP Important?

The AAFP continues to promote and support the education of feline practice. Members of the AAFP will be well-educated and able to continue the excellent care for cats at their veterinary practice.
